Catalano Shipping Launches yacht Anchorage Intelligence at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026

Monaco · 23 September 2026 · Digital Solutions

Monaco, 23 September 2026. Catalano Shipping Services, the Monaco-based yacht agency established in 1997, is launching Anchorage Intelligence during the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, held at Port Hercule from 23 to 26 September. Anchorage Intelligence is a digital tool that turns the anchoring regulations of the whole South of France coast, from the Spanish border to the Italian border, and Corsica into a single, searchable map that tells a captain whether a rule applies to their vessel and links directly to the official decree. Access is currently by waitlist only.

One question, every season: “Can we anchor here with this boat?”

Anyone who has planned a summer itinerary between Saint-Tropez, the Lérins Islands, Cap d’Antibes and Corsica knows the problem. Anchoring rules along the French coast are spread across dozens of decrees, many of them scanned PDFs, written in French legal language, with perimeters defined in degrees, minutes and seconds. Rules change between seasons, differ by vessel length, and overlap between coastal municipalities, the maritime prefecture and protected marine areas.

Since 2019, the protection of Posidonia seagrass meadows has added a further layer: yachts above certain length thresholds are prohibited from anchoring over Posidonia in large parts of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur coastline and Corsica, and infringements can result in substantial fines. Every season, our agents in Monaco, Antibes, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Toulon, Calvi, Ajaccio and Bonifacio field the same question from captains.

For almost 30 years, answering that question has been part of our job as a yacht agent. Anchorage Intelligence is our answer to doing it at scale, consistently, and with the source document one click away.

Key takeaways

  • Anchorage Intelligence is built and operated by Catalano Shipping Services, part of the Fratelli Cosulich Group.
  • It maps anchoring and navigation restrictions published by the French maritime authorities (préfecture maritime decrees) along the whole South of France coast, from the Spanish border to the Italian border, and around Corsica.
  • Each zone shows the rule in plain language, whether it applies to your yacht’s length, the operational constraints, and a one-click link to the official source document at the relevant page.
  • The product is being presented for the first time at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, 23–26 September, Port Hercule.
  • Access is limited during the launch phase. Captains, management companies and operators can request access by joining the waitlist.

What Anchorage Intelligence does for captains

Anchorage Intelligence answers one question before you drop the hook: can this yacht anchor here, right now, and under what conditions? It is built for the bridge, for the planning table and for the shore team that supports both.

Know before you arrive

Open the map, look at the bay you are heading for, and see immediately whether anchoring is forbidden, restricted, subject to authorisation, or governed by dynamic positioning rules. No searching, no translating, no guessing.

An answer for your yacht, not a generic warning

Rules along the French coast often depend on the vessel. Anchorage Intelligence gives a clear verdict for the yacht you are operating: applies, does not apply, or cannot be confirmed. When information is missing, it says so rather than giving you a green light you cannot trust.

The official text, one tap away

Every rule opens the official decree at the page where it is written. You can read the exact wording, show it to an owner or a management company, and keep it in your voyage records.

The details that change your plan

Where a rule sets conditions that matter on the day, you see them alongside the verdict:

Fewer surprises at anchor, faster itinerary decisions, and a clear record of the rule you relied on.

Launching at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026

The Monaco Yacht Show is the event where the superyacht industry meets each September, and it takes place in the port where Catalano Shipping was founded. Presenting Anchorage Intelligence at the 35th edition of the show, from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 September 2026 at Port Hercule, was the natural choice.

You will not find us on a stand this year. Our representatives will be on the quays throughout the show, meeting captains and crews on board and around Port Hercule, and registering the first waitlist members in person. If you are attending, you will very likely hear from us; if you would rather come to us, our door is open.

Our Monaco headquarters is a five-minute walk from the show. Come by for a coffee, a live demonstration of Anchorage Intelligence, or simply to talk through your anchoring questions for the season ahead. No appointment needed during show hours.
